"Amazing atmosphere, beautiful view everywhere, food so huge and delicious!"
"Went there for a late lunch. The spot is amazing. So tranquil and scenic yet so close. We sat right next to the water. The staff was friendly. We got the fish n chips and grilled prawns. A bit hit and miss. The fish batter was a bit soft and not crunchy but fish inside was tasty. The chips were hot and crunchy. The prawns were a standout. Large, crunchy prawns with a good smoky flavour. Spot on."
"High tea was very good. Love the amosphere even though there was a slight drizzle. Great place to catch up with friends surrounded by nature. The staff are super friendly and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place for high tea."
"If you're looking for a beautiful cafe experience that combines stunning views with equally impressive food, The Shed at Akuna Bay is an absolute must-visit. Nestled within the serene setting of the bay, this hidden gem offers not just a meal but an experience that delights all the senses. Started with the Chorizo and Egg Taco, a dish full of flavour, the chorizo was perfectly cooked, offering a rich, smoky flavor that paired beautifully with the creamy, soft-cooked egg. The pico de gallo added a zesty freshness, with the right balance of tang and spice, and a squeeze of lemon elevated the whole dish, adding a citrusy brightness that tied everything together. Next up was the Fish and Chips, a classic that The Shed just elevates. The fish was fresh, as the flavor was light and delicate and perfectly battered to achieve a satisfying crunch, while still being tender and moist inside. The side of zucchini watercress salad added a refreshing contrast, and the chips were exceptionally crunchy—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, just as they should be. All this, enjoyed while overlooking the yachts gently bobbing in the marina, with the tranquil waters of Akuna Bay stretching out in the background, made for an unforgettable brunch experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Shed at Akuna Bay is the perfect spot to unwind and savor some awesome food and chilled vibes."
"Came across the Shed yesterday and loved the whole experience and coffee which was great. Staff so friendly and food others were eating looked excellent. We had forgotten to bring butter and cheese for our intended mini picnic so the staff very kindly gave us both!! Who does that these days?! Highly recommend you try the high tea and the salt n pepper calamari here! We will definitely go back here."
"Love this hidden gem in the middle of the national park, amazing food , great vibes and refreshing cocktails !"
"Such a beautifully located cafe/restaurant/bar at the foot of the forests of the national park which connects directly onto the river. You get a taste of the beautiful tranquility and freshness of the trees while also right beside the serene and calm marina with really clear and fresh water. It's the best of both worlds. I was transported to a beautiful tranquil oasis of a location and it is such an epic experience to just be in the location. There are indoor and outdoor tables to choose from with a variety of different seats and sizes of tables to choose from for all groups and kinds of people. The woven fabric chairs with the cushions at the wooden tables outdoors were really comfortable and the table was very clean and spacious. There is no table service so you get up and order but they do bring the food out to your table after you order which is nice. The ordering process was easy and seamless. The food is fresh and delicious even though there isn't much of a variety to choose from. If you're a very picky eater, you probably won't find much to eat here. But everything they do offer is very fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned. My companions really enjoyed their fresh battered fish and chips which was a really generous serving size so it was very filling and plenty to share. The fish tacos were beautifully presented on the plate and very flavourful. My acquaintances had nothing but positive things to say about the tacos and they even thought about ordering more of them. They also really enjoyed the salt and pepper calamari which they said were super crispy and used extremely fresh seafood. Perfectly seasoned and well cooked. My friend enjoyed the uniqueness of the tentacles in the calamari dish. My comrade ordered the bacon and egg roll and said it was delicious and the bun had a gorgeous char on the outside and the bacon was delicious and perfectly cooked. The hot chips were basic and nothing overly impressive but not too bad either. The prices are on the more expensive side but that's to be expected in a more remotely located area. You come here for the beautiful scenery and location and the fact that there is such fresh food and drinks available here in the first place is amazing. So the price is kind of justified. For reference however, a small bowl of chips which were not overly impressive was $14 so it's pretty pricey, just keep that in mind The service is friendly and welcoming and very helpful. There is a huge giant outdoor chess set in the outdoor section which is a fun little addition if you have kids of even for the adults to play a game of chess. Overall I cannot see any major faults here. The price of the food is highly justified because it's such a great experience being in this location and the effort they put into making this possible is worth the extra cost. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will come back for sure !"
"Amongst, the National Park another hidden treasure! The high Tea was amazing and beautifully served. A mix of petit 4's, salmon slider's and the most soft, fluffiest and moist scones you will ever have. The portions perfect, you will not leave hungry!! Service, was prompt and polite. The views are most serene. Don't forgot to take a walk out to all the boats berthed. Will definitely be back for a lunch session!"
